The Pakun Community
Lili
My name is Lili Taki. I am 29 years old and an Awajún woman from the native community of Pakún, raised with values of collective work, respect for elders, and love for our land. These principles guide my commitment to my community’s well-being.
I am an artisan dedicated to preserving our culture through traditional crafts like cunamas, and I lead an association of women artisans in Pakún to strengthen and promote our work. As a community agent for the safe water project, I am motivated to protect children’s health and ensure families have access to clean water, contributing to a stronger future for our community.
Liliana
I am Liliana “Lili” Kujancham, an Awajún teacher and preschool director, proud of my roots and convinced of the power of education. Born in the native community of Temashnum, I studied Education in Lima and later returned to serve my community.
At 38 years old, I am a mother and lead the school in Pakún, where limited access to safe water affects children’s health. This reality led me to join the safe water project as a concrete opportunity to promote well-being and hope. I believe access to quality water is essential for a dignified and healthy future for all.
